The Middle Fork Nooksack River Fish Passage project will restore access to approximately 16 miles of pristine spawning and rearing habitat in the upper Middle Fork for three Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed Puget Sound fish species: spring Chinook salmon, Steelhead and Bull Trout.
The Middle Fork Nooksack River Fish Passage Project is the result of 20 years of studies and planning by the City of Bellingham and tribal, state, and private partners to bring fish back to the upper reaches of the Middle Fork Nooksack River in Whatcom County, and to restore the river more closely to its natural state.
